Davis, the Utah team that finished third at the NXN SW Regional was 
selected as one of the four alternates, so Nick Hartle gets to run as the 5th 
individual qualifier from the SW. Nick would have been an alternate if 
Davis had not gotten the spot. The 5th spot would have gone to the 
Davis runner who finished ahead of Nick at the Regional.

This is a great opportunity for Nick. The boys field at NXN this year is 
considered stronger than the projected final field at Footlocker 
(according to The Harrier). The trend is definitely towards NXN. Fewer 
and fewer runners, it seems, are passing on NXN to run Footlocker, 
although some still plan to run both, which is not an option for 
runners who run Footlocker West.
